“The important thing is to understand life, each living individuality, not as a form, or a development of form, but as a complex relation between differential velocities, between deceleration and acceleration of particles. A composition of speeds and slownesses on a plane of immanence.”

…desterritorialización

rubiodemarzo:

«No hay territorio sin un vector de salida del territorio, y no hay salida del territorio, desterritorialización, sin que al mismo tiempo se dé un esfuerzo para reterritorializarse en otro lugar, en otra cosa (…)» (El abecedario, Gilles Deleuze).

The only way to get outside the dualisms is to be-between, to pass between… never ceasing to become.
Deleuze and Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus, 1987: 277.  (via moonsandcherries)

thefall:

If desire is repressed, it is because every position of desire, no matter how small, is capable of calling into question the established order of a society: not that desire is asocial, on the contrary. But it is explosive; there is no desiring-machine capable of being assembled without demolishing entire social sectors. Despite what some revolutionaries think about this, desire is revolutionary in its essence - desire, not left-wing holidays! - and no society can tolerate a position of real desire without its structures of exploitation, servitude, and hierarchy being compromised.

Deleuze/Guattari, quotation taken from wikipedia. It seems that me and these guys are going to get along very well.

Hemos tenido experiencias alucinatorias, hemos visto líneas, como columnas de hormiguitas, abandonar una meseta para dirigirse a otra.

Herein, perhaps, lies the secret: to bring into existence and not to judge. If it is so disgusting to judge, it is not because everything is of equal value, but on the contrary because what has value can be made or distinguished only by defying judgment. What expert judgment, in art, could ever bear on the work to come?

A common definition of the simulacrum is a copy of a copy whose relation to the model has become so attenuated that it can no longer properly be said to be a copy. It stands on its own as a copy without a model
This question of speed is important and also very complex. It doesn’t mean the first in the race: you can be late through speed. It doesn’t mean changing either: you can be invariable and constant through speed. Speed is to be caught in a becoming - which is not a development or an evolution. One must be like a taxi, queue, line of flight, traffic jam, bottleneck, green and red lights, slightly paranoid, brushes with the police.

Capture is always a double-capture, theft a double-theft, and it is that which creates not something mutual, but an asymmetrical block, an a-parallel evolution, nuptials, always ‘outside’ and ‘between’. So this is what it would be, a conversation.

For Deleuze, a nomad does not have to move… a nomad can practice nomadology whilst being in one place. It is the nomadology of thought - the journey to new territories through processes of deterritorialization and reterritorialization.
The system wants us to be sad, and we have to succeed in being joyful to resist it.
